60 countries to host Iran celebrations

The 38th anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution will be celebrated in 60 countries, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) says.

Some 80 Iranian cultural centers around the globe will hold different programs to mark the victory anniversary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, ICRO head, Abouzar Ebrahimi-Torkaman, said during a press conference on Sunday.

World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Forum, Al-Mustafa International University, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance as well as several other institutions and organizations will cooperate in arranging and holding the programs.

Ebrahimi-Torkaman added that forums and lectures on the Islamic Revolution and the character of Imam Khomeini, photo and poster exhibitions and book fairs, unveiling translations of 50 books, and Iranian film weeks are among the programs to be held at the culture centers during the ten days of Fajr celebrations.

Annually, millions of Iranians celebrate the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution for ten days, known as Daheye Fajr.

The ten-day programs start on the anniversary of the day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran on January 31, continuing to the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 10.

Iranians hold the celebrations to mark their unity in toppling the US-supported Pahlavi monarchic regime 38 years ago.

The Islamic Revolution, led by the late Imam Khomeini, founded a new political system according to democracy and Islamic values.
